About us
Nottingham Bikeworks is a not-for-profit community interest company. We were set up in 2013 in one of Nottingham’s most deprived inner-city areas. We believe cycling is ideal urban transport as well as being fun, affordable, healthy and sustainable. Our primary aims are to: • encourage and support more people to use bikes as regular, everyday transport • reduce waste by returning unwanted bikes back into the community • utilize bikes and cycling as tools for education, enrichment and engagement • and improve community cohesion particularly for disadvantaged groupsDelivering community projects and services to achieve our aims We deliver a variety of community projects and services to achieve our aims: • A fully inclusive workshop environment with expert, accessible supervision • Delivering a wide range of projects and training opportunities for individuals, groups and organisations, with a particular focus on those experiencing disadvantage
