The fabric is a nice crisp cotton with a bright print. There are two layers of cotton, so it's thicker than most robes/kimonos, but there isn't a layer of wadding like some quilted jackets, so it's not really bulky. I think it is a good buy, a nice item for the price. Although coming from India it wasn't very slow to arrive.
