Film Noir about a truly icy blonde

Film noir is known for its hardboiled, unlikable characters. But the best films of this genre also manage to engage the audience's sympathy and understanding. We acknowledge that the characters make poor choices, up to and including murder, but it's usually because they are desperately poor, or have been emotionally scarred, or are being manipulated by someone else. Not so the lead actress --- I can hardly call her the heroine --- of BLONDE ICE. We first see her cheating on her new husband at her own wedding. After only a week of marriage, she murders him. She goes back to her old boyfriend from the wedding, but keeps yet another guy on the string. This film was entertaining and the characters were interesting, but I could find no redeeming value in the icy blonde. Worth seeing once, but not a favorite. Read full review
