V1 valve amplifier ( intimidation)

Although the amp sounds quite good I wouldn't say it is a true valve amplifier,it's mainly solid state in the power amp stage with some valves used in the preamp stage,it does not appear to use output transformers as would a true valve amp!,
it also claims to be 50w per channel which would not be possible with the valves that are installed,if this was a true valve amp it would only be 5 watt per channel ! ,mine has also developed a bit of hum when powered up,otherwise it is a warm sounding amp which is powerful and punchy ,I would have preferred it to have a balance control like most stereo amps but the designers seem to have missed out this feature!,more inputs would also have been a good idea even though it has Bluetooth capabilities which are endless if you have the right equipment more actual physical inputs for hardware would be handy,
Overall i would rate the sound as 4 out of 5,
Value for money would be good if this was a true valve amp 3/5
