Bright longer lasting light.
This is a straight swap for the original grain of wheat bulb in the Mini Maglite. No other parts need to be swapped. It gives a much brighter light output than the original grain of wheat bulb and it works with NiMH rechargeable batteries. It does not interfere with the Mini Maglite’s zoom function. A worthwhile upgrade as battery life can be expected to improve because of the greater efficiency of LED technology. As this is a recent purchase I can't comment on durability.Read full review

I have been a regular user of pocket torches for many years, and I always have one in pocket size....or even a half dozen, in the house. Being small they can disappear. The problem with small AA cell torches has always been poor performance, but NOT ANY MORE!. My AA size maglite now outshines absolutely anything you can fit in your pocket, and keeps doing it so long you risk getting gucky batteries. make sure you buy good quality, so you don't get that problem.Read full review

Superb
Have used the mini Maglite for many years, and it was an excellent piece of kit, but the light emmited was adequate. Not exactly penetrating. I installed the Led conversion and it was greatly improved. A useful penetrating white light is produced and life of the AA batteries seems to be far longer. Minor downside is the reduced focusing but beam is so bright that it doesn't really matter. Great product.Read full review

Excellent coversion to LED
Like many I have tried many torches in my toolbox among then a Mini MAGLITE as its small and handy in a small space. I had suspended use, of the MAGLITE, as the batteries soon deplete and the light isn't very bright. This LED unit is a very simply executed conversion for the incandescent bulb 2AA Mini Maglite, which both improves brightness and extends battery life. The light produced is whiter than the original bulb. The variable focus feature of the Maglite is retained, but somewhat reduced, being better at beam than flood.Read full review

Excellent replacement for mini Maglite standard bulb
The standard bulb on my mini Maglite died after very long service and I decided to replace it with an LED. Of the ones I could find, this one is very bright, is a direct replacement for the standard bulb and uses a DC-DC converter to allow it to work with the standard 2 cell mini Maglite. It should also give constant light output over the life of the batteries. (Not checked on this unit) The torch can still focus over a wide range as with the standard bulb. The light is very bright, almost as bright as the 3W LED mini Maglite I have and the focusing is better. I am well pleased with the purchase.Read full review

This LED is far superior to the bulbs that come supplied with the Mini Maglite.
Absolutely dazzling white light that uses a fraction of the battery power of that of the original bulbs.
Easy to fit in about 10 seconds.
On the face of it, it seems expensive for what it is, but compared to the long term cost of continuously replacing quickly depleted batteries with the supplied bulbs, it is in fact, a real bargain!Read full review

Product gave the expected increase in brightness and presumably much longer battery life. Only downside is that due to the thickness of the base, presumably housing a few bits of electronics, the adjustment of the beam spread is somewhat reduced. Having said that still a HUGE improvement over the old bulb, so I'm looking for my other Mini Maglite to upgrade that too.Read full review

More light with less power
Great upgrade to my maglite! Slightly brighter, probably longer battery life and probably a long life expectancy. Although you may get new cheap LED torches with same or better performance I like to be able to re-use old stuff and enjoy this upgrade.Read full review
