Good for small fish
The workmanship is good but the spring is weaker than another one I have. Should be OK for smaller fish.

Great value for the price!
I bought it for my daughter for her travels in Japan. She wanted a camera with features like an SLR but without the weight. She had researched the choices, including ratings in Consumer Reports, and selected the camera based on the features and price. It was all that she expected. It has terrific memory and a versatile wide zoom lens which accommodated panoramic vistas as well as close-ups. She wanted a short frame time for action shots which worked well at sporting/cultural events. It was small and light enough that it wasn't a burden on long hikes. She is not a techie and the options were intuitive enough for her to use them without frustration. All in all, this camera, at its price, was the best cost/benefit for her.
