Dead Man's Time
As from the opening pages, look forward to being consumed by another intriguing fast-moving 'whodunnit' for Detective Superintendent Roy Grace to solve. Am reading the books in sequence but not essential to do this as Peter James's Roy Grace novels are equally gripping as 'stand alone' books.
Roy Grace comes across as the face of the bobby we should all like to know-totally committed to his job and determined to make a difference as his late father-also a policeman-has clearly instilled into him. We also see the 'softer ' Roy Grace not only in his relationship with Chloe and their new born son but also with his immediate work colleagues.
I'm well into the plot- the thing I find difficult is resisting the overwhelming temptation to read pages ahead or even, read the last pages!! Heaven forbid !!
