Gtech Escent Electric Bike

The bike is lightweight for an electric bike. No problem lifting it onto the car roof bars. At the price I paid on the offer there is nothing out there that seriously competes. Range wise I get about 43 miles with eco mode and occasional max mode - but I am a strong rider. My son gets about 12 in max mode and 25 in eco and is a young but weak rider(about 18 stone). The beauty of this bike is it rides like a normal bike without assistance. A lot of the bikes in this price range do not ride well without electric assistance. The bike is well balanced and the fork supple. The cane creek suspension seatpost does a remarkable job of keeping non cyclists comfortable (my son). I really think this is an excellently designed bike which is all the more remarkable as they are not bike manufacturers. The motor design is very much lighter than the Suntour motors used on other similar bikes and this is really what gives the Escent its well balanced feel. I don't think this bike is suitable for the red runs such as "follow the dog" at Cannock, but as a cross-country /road mix this bike is just brilliant. Well done Gtech
