Chesterton, G. K .. The Return of Don Quixote
02 Feb, 2020
Humorous but profound
I think this is a first edition, and I wanted it so that I could lend it to someone, as I originally read the book on Kindle. The title on the outer cover is no longer readable, but the book is in better physical condition than many newer books, and is very sturdy for reading, and the old typeface is attractive. This is a novel by G.K. Chesterton and he says some interesting things about socialism, class, and even about the dissolution of the monasteries - if that's not a spoiler. A thought-provoking book, although some people will predictably say that it is right-wing. As a convert to Catholicism, Chesterton never gave up his concern for social justice. So this is a refreshing change from the usual political Right/Left dichotomy, and told in an engaging way.
