A quick read which the reader will return to
An interesting and heartfelt review of the power and history of the English oak through time. It's importance in our lives over decades is carefully documented with the addition of poems which feature or mention the oak. The illustrations are lovely. However, at times the telling becomes a little mundane and slow. Excellent value and I would recommend to readers who love the English countryside and its folklore; nature and poetry. Excellent gift for someone. Cover is gorgeous.
