Early days yet ...
Ingenious choice of parts to keep to cost so amazingly low - a metal box would have doubled the price - it reminds me a bit of the kits sold by J Bull in the old days :)
It was fun to build - though I failed to look closely enough at the switch and wound the main coil in reverse - hopefully it won't make much difference in operation.

So far, so good ...
I'm only giving it four stars because I've only had it a couple of weeks so don't know about its reliability long-term - and I also have no previous experience of using a proper soldering station, but it makes me wonder what I might have done with this as a teenager who was instead wrestling with a huge army surplus iron and germanium transistors ...

Great value for money - in weekly use for years..
I've been using one of these for many years.
Given its low price, I don't feel bad about replacing it - nothing comparable on the market that will charge 12 volt packs.
It may even have been the battery rather than the charger at fault.
