Ratchet is the key

The ratchet function makes this product stand out as it is often the case that the first action does not fully cut a branch. It is important the shears don't open up again as the second action is then ineffectual. The ratchet keeps the jaws where they are. Good product though be careful I tore a pectoral muscle on a green branch 3cm thick 20 feet up a ladder on full extension. Tough product as this didn't break the tool just me. I'll be recovered in a few days just a bit sore. Only time will tell whether the quality lasts. With this type of abuse the linkages may loosen and then the product is useless. We shall see but at the price it has paid for itself already and saved me using power tools 20 feet up a ladder which is not always a good idea.

SAW HORSE - PROBLEM SOLVED AND SAFE

Always a problem cutting boughs and logs on the ground when they move solved by the saw horse. Not only can you stack all the logs at once but even if they move the chains drop and secure so no flying wood anymore. Brilliant portable and easily stored.
