more of a noisemaker than a cowbell
0 of 1 found this helpful I was looking for a hand held cowbell to hit with a drumstick. Removed the clapper (think party favor) dampened the tone with a couple wraps of tape and it's OK, not great, but OK. Decent value as long as you know what you're getting.

Not "drop in"
0 of 1 found this helpful When you buy a loaded pick guard you expect an easy installation, so be advised that is not the case with this Modern Player version. Pick ups and 3 way must be unsoldered to route wires through body passages and in my case the pick up wires had been cut too short to reconnect. Resoldering is in a confined spot and takes patience, and in my case, a magnifier. The wires from the three way were too thick to fit through the passage with the neck p/u lead, which turned out not to matter much because the threads to secure the 3way were not long enough to reach through the body. Plan on re-using the factory switch, and, if you cut the wire rather than unsolder it like I did, get some wire to make the connection. The pick up cavities will need to be routed to get proper clearance from the strings. With the pick ups secured to the pick guard rather than the body as originally designed, assembly and disassembly is a tedious process. It does sound pretty good once you get it sorted out and the pots are good quality.
