Light emitting diodes is the future of lighting.
Phillips is a quality brand ,strong and tough trims. heavy duty plastic lens with metal trim ring, small ballast attached to the top. The light is brighter Whiter than a 65 incandescent watt bulb and can be dimmed. One of my goals with these was to seal the can light to prevent heat loss in the house .Heat really escapes through old bulb and trim standard. These LED trims seal the can light. I liked the par 38 Halogen bulb look to the lens, good idea from Philips.I have installed many 100s of trims as a Electrician. These are the most quick and easy that i have ever installed ,just remove the old bulb and trim ,screw the new connector in the socket of the can and push the trim up. they take about 15 sec each to install. . these work on most all can lights except for old and rare light-o-leer cans from the 70s that have a built on trim ring that cannot be removed .
