Why buy a TV if you can get a projector?
1 of 2 found this helpful The VPL-HW40ES is simply one of the best 'bang for the buck' projectors you can buy - especially at this price. I have mine set up in a light controlled room, so I can't really review for bright environment/typical living room. However - in a media room - it is FANTASTIC. My wife went in to this project hating projectors, thinking they looked blurry/washed out. She's amazed now what a real projector looks like! She's on board, and we now have a 125" screen to watch!
I was a bit nervous not buying from an authorized dealer, but avdeals' quick responses and advertised warranty made me feel a bit more comfortable. The projector arrived very quickly, and the shipping box was even packed inside an additional box - very nice! I set it up, and so far so good, everything operating perfectly.
The only drawback - was this included a free mount. The mount only supports 18lbs, yet the projector is 21lbs. That's not something I'm willing to risk, so purchased another mount ($25). This is minor compared to the $1k saved over retail pricing.
