A new lease of life for my watch

I was quoted a staggering £140 to replace the capacitor on my Citizen ECO Drive watch which had started to stop and loose time after 15 years use. They gave me the usual flannel that you had to do this that and the other in order to make sure that it was fitted correctly. After watching a YouTube video of one being fitted I thought I'd give it a go. It was as easy to fit as a normal watch battery ( if you can fit a normal watch battery you'll have no problem fitting a capacitor ) After fitting, the watch is back to normal. If your ECO Drive watch has started to stop and start after 12 or so years it is probably only the capacitor that needs replacing. As a rough guide, I would suggest that if the second hand is moving when the watch is exposed to the light that proves that power is being generated by the photo cell and not being stored by the capacitor. This capacitor was a genuine product and was well worth the money.
