JUST what I was looking for, QUALITY product!
I recently invested in a brand new Denon AVR-S950H. I noticed after some rigorous movie watching, it got fairly warm... Now, I know the engineers either thought it wasn't necessary to add any cooling fans OR they skimped and cut corners on that front, HOWEVER, if these fans get me 3 more years out of this receiver, it will have been worth the $50 investment ten fold. These things are SILENT. Even at 1/2 to 3/4 power, I can't hear them. The thermostat control works flawlessly. I was very pleased with the build quality. Heat shrink on all connections, tight fitting terminations, you name it. Watched "Ready Player One" on 4k Ultra last night and even with a workout on the HDMI side of the receiver AND the audio output, those fans kept the receiver NOTICEABLY cooler. I'm very pleased. 11/10. If you do research for cooling on A/V Forums or chat with experts, they'll likely tell you that your component is designed to work within a certain operating temp and that cooling isn't necessary, HOWEVER, heat is THE KILLER to any electronic device...so why not spend $50 and extend the life even just another year? I think it's a no brainer.
