The cold standard
1 of 1 found this helpful I've been using these since they came out and have compared others from time to time. Blue Steel have the sound I want from my bass. Clear notes and rich in harmonics. Punchy for finger playing and deep if you're plucking further up the neck for sustaining notes.
I don't use a pick that often but if you do you'll resurrect Entwistle and Squire with a big fat clear and punch tone.
These are not for round wound string sound lovers. They're rock/ progressive jazz strings meant for bass lines that need to stand out.

NICE to Have
I bought this to go on one of my favourite 4 string basses that I stopped playing because of the need for an extended "D" on a lot of material. It take a bit of breaking in and fine tuning but so far its pretty reliable. I'd buy it again.
