They may be dear but in the long run are worth every penny, i have two of these I've compared it with the Tamron and Sigma versions and still choose this every time. I shoot with a D5 and D810's and its superb. The nicest thing for me is the weight, it is all metal and glass and feels like if you dropped it it would stand the fall. I now have the VR version that is obviously as good but personally not worth the extra money which is why I'm keeping one of my two for back up.

I use about 4TB a month, so its essential i have good storage. This is the fifth one i have bought this year and it is superb.
