Middlemarch (2005, DVD)
I love BBC historical dramas. Firth in Pride and Prejudice, Jane Eyre with Stephens (AWESOME), and Wilson, are two of my all time favorites. I looked forward to this being as captivating. Many convincing aspects to the production like scenery and architecture. Some characters that played their part so well that I really disliked them (the incredibly spoiled wife of Dr. Lydgate for one). I think the acting of individual characters for the most part was outstanding, but I do not think all the relationships between the characters were always developed to the depths I imagine the book may have managed to do. (I assume this from passed experience in reading the book but did not read this one first). I did not think Rufus Sewell stood out with his full abilities, (such as I seen him capable of in A Knights Tale for ex.), and perhaps the character and script did not encourage a more memorable character. Over all a good watch once you got past the confusing beginning of meeting so many character but understandable for a complex piece of literature.

Cute but no on/off switch
Puppy is realistic "looking" and I believe worth what I paid $35.00 w/free shipping, however, there's no on/off switch. Once the little plastic thingy is pulled from the battery top, it breaths continuously so we''ll see how long it lasts under that circumstance alone.They state the switch is left out to make it realistic but I don't feel it would have been a big deal to hide a small one somewhere. If they truly want to make it more realistic they could make it a bit more cuddly as it is a hard sculptured like feel. Purchased for my mother in a nursing home so the test of durability is rather mute here as it just lies on her bed. It is a conversation piece to be sure though and very cute.

Useless, Does not allow casting from laptop computers
Tried connecting an old Chromecast stick to a TV and was told they no longer had the download for it and I had to use the Home app. Figured I might as well just upgrade the Chromecast unit so bought this one only for casting from my computer, wanting to keep things simple. I do not use wi fi enabled appliances etc., and for the most part prefer to not have them monitoring my life. So to find out that I HAVE to set this unit up on a smart phone or tablet etc. and my simple lap top computer will not do, makes this a waste of my hard earned money. The old school one did not require a special device so never thought twice about buying this. In my opinion then, instead of the unit being an improvement from the old one I had, it is "useless" because of the app requirements to use it. . If you are going to make money off these units, why not make them useful to everyone. Provide a simple app for basic casting with a computer and cut out stuff I don't even need or want, or you should have continued to support the old units with the old download they used to require. I read reviews on the Home app itself and found many negative ones anyway.
