Enjoyable insight into the life of this lovely man.
I have wanted this book for ages,and it didn't disappoint. Alan really is a brilliant writer, it's like sitting down to a chat with him! I empathised with his character too. I do like autobiographies and this was one of the best. I was pleased to learn about his partner, Rupert, and his happiness in later life. He is a talented writer and appears to be such a lovely man - success and wealth have not gone to his head! I did enjoy the photos and the biography sections best, though a lot of the diary entries were also interesting. I look forward to seeing the movie, The lady in the van. THANK YOU, ALAN!
