Exactly what we need
This is right for our situation. Our HVAC has a built-in electrostatic filter that does the heavy work, but we also have cats. Cats shed 24/7. These fiberglass filters catch probably 99.9% of the hair before it gets into the air return. We change them out every month for about $20 a year.
I'm guessing that, if you're on a tight budget, these would be OK as your only filter, and for a lot less than you're likely paying now.
