Gigabyte GT 1030 Low Profile 2G

Perfect for everyday, a godsend for slim computers

I bought this card to fit into an ultra-slim Acer desktop which allows only very low cards to be fitted. The onboard graphics were adequate for office apps and even youtube but I wanted just a little more. A full fat card was out of the question, it would be too high. This card arrived with a low profile bracket and changing it for the "normal" sized one was very simple. It slotted in at the first attempt and was a perfect fit. The fan works quietly and is hardly noticeable, performance is as one would expect from a 2GB GDDR5 card. It will not conquer the gaming world; anyone who is looking for top class graphics should look elsewhere. I couldn't because of the physical restrictions. The card provides HDMI and DVI outputs, both of which are in use, one driving a 24" 1920x1080 monitor and the other a 1680x1050 which I use as a CCTV monitor. It drives these monitors easily with no sudden whirring of the fan: it just does the job quietly and efficiently.

Works great and is good value

I needed this to provide a third SATA power cable to an older Gigabyte motherboard machine. Plugged it into Molex and one of the SATA to HDD, worked first time. Perfect, cheap solution. Quick delivery, too. Highly recommended.

Well made, works immediately and gives excellent image quality

Needed to drive an LG 2560x1440 monitor from a GTX580 DVI dual link port. Connection is solid and worked immediately; monitor resolution immediately recognised and set in Windows 8.1 (this did not work with an HDMI cable). Cable looks and feels well made and the picture quality is first rate. Please note the cable I am reviewing is dual link DVI.
