Disc brake kit installation limitations
The disc brake kit is not designed to attach to an existing frame/wheels that are not set up for disc brakes. I plan to make my own adaptation in order to use it on an existing older frame/wheels but that is a good bit of machine work. Not for the average person.
However, if you have a frame and wheel combo that was set up for disc brakes as an option this kit should attach to the hubs and frame members provided. The discs come with internally threaded aluminum pieces that thread on to male thread extensions on both wheel hubs.

Rugged, tilt feature works well, as advertised.
1 of 1 found this helpful This is a heavy package. On arrival noted some carton damage and a couple of hardware pieces lost during transit, but the unit was fine. Replacement hardware available at the hardware store. I would have ordered with gage but did not see one offered. With a little research I found that the gage kit can be ordered directly from CMC for 3 bills. Instructions are adequate but not exceptional. I needed to attach a Merc 115 clamp-on transom mount. The instructions describe a clamp kit but not very clearly. I choose to adapt it myself. Had some fit problems and then interference with the left side clamp screw hitting the hydraulic ram housing. I was able to modify the left clamp to get at least 50 or 60 degrees of tilt which is satisfactory but it made for a long day. The right side is ok because the ram is mounted to the left. The materials are of high quality including the switch and wiring. Everything is nicely prewired so once you get the mechanical assembly done it's very easy to finish up.
