Sturdy compact unit with bold high contrast output
This is a very impressive little printer. It feels solid and produces very high contrast labels. I'm using a selection of laminated white/black on clear/black/white/yellow in two sizes, but there are many other alternatives out there. The cartridges are easily swapped in and out without any additional wastage.
I can't help thinking that for the amount of data being exchanged that Bluetooth would have been a better option for a wireless interface. Far easier to set up and manage.
As for battery operation .. you have to be very carful when reading the manual to find the one line that says the Wi-Fi only works on battery with the purpose designed Li-Ion battery, 6*AA batteries won't hack it. Another £18.55 later for a proprietary battery and I have a truly portable printer. To be fair, if you need it to be portable it's probably going to be beside the portable thing you're using to send labels to it, so a USB connection shouldn't be a problem. (Except that it's a mini-USB, which I thought went out with the Ark) Why no Wi-Fi on AAs? Discharge rate maybe. But 2*18650 would have given all the capacity / discharge rate / etc. that it could possibly need, and at half the price!
The software is easy to install and use for both Android and Windows 10, but it's a little quirky compared with other Windows layout tools I've used. Everything is there, it's just that one or two commands are not that obvious. (text rotation stumped me for a bit)
On minor niggle, I've noticed that when using the Wi-Fi from a tablet the delay from pressing the 'Print' button to something coming out can be annoyingly long (30 sec). I didn't get such a huge delay via USB from a PC.
Overall; A very nice machine that produces excellent results. Highly recommended.

Good solid design
I deliberately chose this one because the arm is not too long. (long ones wobble about more) This one is excellent. The goose neck is pretty stiff, so I wouldn't go bending it about without holding on to the base, but that's a plus point, once it's set it doesn't move. The base suction cup holds tight. It's been on a month now and shows no sign of falling off anytime soon.
The magnetic clamp for the phone end is surprisingly strong given that the supplied mating plate is so thin. I didn't want to glue the plate to my nice new phone, so I bought a silicone case at the same time and attached the plate to that.
I'm using mine to hold a Samsung S8, and both the magnet and the goose neck are more than good enough for the job. I would recommend this to anybody.
