Perfect title for this very ingenious disc.

This is an incredible achievement from a greatly loved artist. He has combined his classical training with his talent for lyric writing to great effect. I was lucky to see Neil Sedaka live in concert in London several years ago. Every track on this CD is a revelation and he considers this his greatest recording to date. James Hay

THE DESERT SONG

Nelson Eddy is always engaging in his many successful films and his lovely voice suits Romberg's music, although this film is at the end of his career and he is rather too old for the role of Pierre. I was sorry that the comedy roles of Benny and Susan were cut completely from the film and their songs. I also thought the film would have been more effective in colour. I still enjoyed the music and the leading lady had a delightful voice.

Enjoyable listening. A great selction of music from the Edwardian era.

I just love this era of light music and as I have performed with Marilyn Hill Smith she can do no wrong on this recording. A lovely selection of both orchestral and vocal items. Highly recommended. Let's have more of the same!
