Atomic Beam Magic Ear Personal Sound Booster Hearing Aid Device As Seen On TV
    23 Jul, 2020
Great substitute if you can't get hearing aids
This worked amazingly well for my elderly friend. Hearing aids are not really an option for her right now, so we gave this a try. To test it, I stood at the other side of the room, covered my mouth, and quietly asked her to repeat what I said. She heard every bit. She can listen to the TV now with the volume at a regular level and not blaringly loud. When not in use, she forgets to turn it off, but the batteries have not quit for days so it's not an energy hogging device.

    Good little animated ghost!
Overall, this is a good little animated prop. The ghost has arms that move up and down alternately, and a head that pivots in a small circle from the neck. It is draped in cheesecloth-like and gauze-like fabrics. The chain is removable, made of very light plastic, and can spread out straight to 21". The arms are positionable and when completely spread out (without the chain), the width, fingertip to fingertip, will just about reach 30". The fingers can be spread a little bit, but can break at the joints if attempting to bend them (I know cuz I tried - yay for glue!). It's 36" from the top of the head to the lowest piece of hanging fabric. The image displayed here looks a little different from what I received: (1) In the image, the ghost looks mostly white, but on the unit I received, the top cheesecloth layer is sprayed a dark gray over the head and arms; (2) The red eyes in the picture are positioned far apart from each other and appear large, but on the unit I received, the eyes are closer together and are small LED lights. The description did not accurately describe the recorded sound effects – it's more than just moaning, it's a male voice SCREAMING, "No! No! Help me! Let me out! I want out!" over the sound of clanking chains. It lasts about 35 seconds and it is loud. It's a little more audibly gruesome than I would like, but covering the speaker can mute it about 80%. There may be a wire I can cut to eliminate the sound altogether (I just have to figure out which one and hope it doesn't cut power to anything else).
