Fantastic bit of kit
7 of 7 found this helpful I originally made my Amazon account all the way back in 2011 specifically to buy one of these. I was enthralled by its (relative to the size of e-books) huge storage capacity, ability to play books aloud, and as a backup, an always enabled free 3g connection, so that I could check wikipedia in neat black and white, or buy books on the go if I was desperate. I loved that first Kindle like a child; carried it everywhere, and read in all likelihood more full length books on it than I ever had in my combined life up to that point. In 2014, in a freak (read: I was hungover) washing machine accident, me and my beloved kindle were parted; it having bent into the shape of the inside of the washing drum, rendering it pleasingly tactile and smelling of cotton, but unusable. Since then I had closely followed sales and new Kindle editions looking to replace it, but every time finding some reason, some feature that my first and best Kindle had had, and always ended up leaving it 'for the next one to come out'. My wait is over. I realised that Amazon are never quite going to match the perfection they had in this piece of kit, and having roamed around Ebay to find the exact colour and case combo I used to rock, I finally have my baby back. For only £110 less than I originally paid for it.
