E28r11p force engine for traxxas
This engine arrives in a nice box and looks a quality item.
First impressions straight out the box make you feel you've won a prize and instantly you've put your life on hold to get it plumbed in.
After a while you start to come back down to earth having realised claiming this prize comes with strings attached.
The only part of this engine that makes it fit for purpose in a traxxas revo is the exhaust port which does indeed enable the original traxxas exhaust to be fitted.
Other than that it's longer, wider and the revo starter system doesn't fit. Parts that need modifying include the engine mounts, the starter, the one way bearing, the fly wheel collar, the exhaust mount. The old revo engine is pretty well cannibalised to achieve the transplant too.
Is it all worth it........ Well I certainly think so, it is certainly in the spirit of the hobbie. Better than that the engine can be installed good enough to be a valid replacement to the rubbish traxxas offerings that have poor running and poor life spans.
Having the Force 28 engine installed has given my revo a new lease of life it runs better for longer, easier to tune, makes more power and runs cooler.
The engine is spot on would be five stars if it was properly for traxxas but it's too generic some serious thought has to be put into installation. It is a shame it doesn't come with a fitting kit to make installation easier.
To summarise this engine was cheaper than a new piston and sleeve for the traxxas engine that's because the traxxas engine is so prone to premature wear they sell well.
Traxxas want your revo retrofitted with batteries and a motor now.
It can be fitted, it has been fitted to a traxxas revo 3.3......... Mine.
Was it easy....... No
It is worth it...... Yes

BMW owners save some money now!
They arrived quickly and upon first inspection thought they looked a little cheap only to find out its true oem every seal and and bearing removed was identical to these. My transfer box is like new and my bank still has a few quid in it. Thanks peeps
