Brilliant - A truly prized gem of my music collection
Jacqueline du Pre is without a doubt one of the worlds great cellists. There are few, in my experience, who have been able to play with such verve and such joy. This is a wonderful collection of a major part of the cello repertoire, from the great Concertos of Dvorak, Elgar and Bach to some lesser known works that are less well know.
I had this EMI Complete Recordings set a long time ago and it vanished. Actually, I think it was nicked. So I have now replaced it and I am finding that I am enjoying it just as much as I did a decade ago.
