A must read for understanding Asia today!

THis was a coherent and intelligent examination of a period of war between China and Japan which had lasting consequences. It was well written and a good read for the ordinary reader. If you want to understand the current situation in Asia this book is a good place to start! I could not put it down and will be looking for more books by this historian.
