The chip in the key is faulty...
2 of 5 found this helpful At first I was very impressed that the key only cost me $25 (I had a $10 coupon) and it worked in terms of opening my door. Though, once I found a locksmith which I thought was gonna be an inexpensive transaction to program the key and get it to start my car ended up costing me more than I bargained for since the locksmith said he was having issues with the chip in the key. We took an hour to program my car because we could not figure out the issue and he had to switch out the chip in the key which was an additional cost to the programming cost. Before we were about to give up on figuring out the issue, the locksmith was going to sell me a cut-to-fit original Honda key that would work (guaranteed), which would've cost me less than figuring out this whole issue with the key provided here. I was already determined with the key I had so in the end we made it work.
If you are looking ONLY for a key that can open your car door, and NOT start your car, nor be easily programmed, then this is your key.
