Great to come back to these

Decided to re read some Cadfael after a visit to an exhibition about monks in York. This DVD is a faithful representation of the original books. Also an interesting glimpse into the history and life of the times. Derek Jacobi is a really good actor. Actors of other parts are also good.

I really love the vibrant colour. It looks great when applied and is also easy to apply. It has lasted quite well on my toenails. Unfortunately on fingernails it scratches and wears off very quickly - more quickly then ordinary varnishes. Difficult to see how it can have a medical effect when half of it is missing after the first day of application.

On Chester On

An interesting historical look at the college, However, I was there from 1969 -72 and did not find much detail about these years. In this period there was an unprecedented number of students who dropped out - about 30 I think in one term. I thought there might be some reference to this. A lot of people in my cohort were dissatisfied with the teaching and the government of the college.I remember being locked out of my room in Catherine hall at 10.30 - couldn't have survived without my downstairs window! Also the teaching of teaching was sadly lacking. You got thrown in on teaching practice with no guidance on behaviour management or proper instruction on how to deliver lessons. I only became a teacher in my first job in an inner city school where the Head guided me.
