Really useful to begin with your bycicle maintenance
It is really handy AND beginner level, however it can be useful for people approaching bicycle maintenance (at least they will learn the right words to look for explicative video in Youtube :) ).
Recommended, if someone offers you to tighten your "nipple" or your "bottom bracket", you will learn it's not harassing you. If you already know, go for the complete Sloane's guide

A complete and broad view on structural geology
A good book, full with graph and pictures to help understnading the various concepts.
A recommended book for people with at least minimal Geology/Geophysics/Physics/Chemistry knowledge.

Sony DSC-S85: Learn photography and post processing
3 of 5 found this helpful I am waiting to gather money to buy a DSLR (like Pentax K10 or Nikon D80) and waiting this, I bought that Sony.
First, the pros:
- Lens, nice one with good aperture (2-2.8) makes the camera nice for portrait
- Good video quality
- Battery, that seems to be quite long (but that's a pity that it does not use common AA or AAA battery, but a dedicated one)
-not so slow turning on ( i expected longer time)
- Manual control for shutter, aperture, focus, iso, exposure compensation
- Flash power selectable (3 steps)
- Macro
- Low dimension Image, but no problem in doing "large" print
BAD:
- shooting time, apparently completely random from short to long one
- Awful color balance (You have to work out with the computer to show beautiful color... striking blue against green turns out pale blue on pale green)
- Almost always ove exposed image. No loss of information, but more work in post-processing.
-Low light performance: 400 iso is already very noisy. And 400 iso is the max.
- Tiff output
TOTAL: I think the right mark is .... 7,5 / 10
Suggested, especilly to learn basis of photography and of post processing.
Can be very affordable with some accesories (mine had 3 memory card, and a wide angle add-on)
