"Jodha Akbar" is a by far better epic!
It's not a great movie. If you want to see a great indian epic movie, I would like you to see "Jodha Akbar". There's Aishwarya Rai and Hrithik Roshan. AND there's an interesting story, too - about overcoming difficulties between muslim and hindu cultures. Whereas "Padmaavat" offers you rather stupid actions, leading all of the characters to a stupid death. So storywise "Padmaavat" is letting you down. Sorry.

Educational and entertaining
Why it is a great movie? Well, first of all there's Ranveer Singh, king of Bollywood. And it's a great movie about the indian economy, about a typical indian business sector, namely wedding planning. You get all of it that makes indian cinema great: music (during weddings), emotional and melodramatic interaction (between leading female and male actors) and educational message (how to create a close relation, how to value it, how to build a successful business) and all of that in an entertaining and fun environment.

Looking into it
Everybody knows about 9/11, but what about India, what about muslims in India? If you want to experience it from the personal viewpoint of somebody who lived throw it, in his family, in his love life, in his professional life as a lawyer, see this movie. It's thought-provoking.
