Hannibal Rising - Not much.
You have to be a serious Hannibal Lector fan to purchase this book, and if you are, you will be disappointed in this story. Yes, there are a few -zingers- regarding Hannibal's youth, (and his ability to LOVE), but the story revolves around him searching for, and killing (as only Hannibal can) the Nazi war criminals who brutalized him and killed his family. I read the book in just a few hours. I may read it again after I see the movie. This story doesn't even come close to the previous novels.. Hannibal, Red Dragon, or Silence of the Lambs. Those contained creative stories, deliciously horrid descriptions, black humor, and a slow steady build-up to real terror. This is my first ever review. My great disappointment in this book has compelled me to write this, and to open myself up to criticism. I bought this new from Amazon for $16.77. and I am unhappy with the quality of the book. The paper is thick, cheap looking, and the pages aren't trimmed. It looks like a book club book. Although I pre-ordered to have a first edition, it is not labeled as such. My advice is: buy it for a good price on ebay, or read it at the library.

Success with House Plants for Plant Lovers and Artists
The title of this book is SUCCESS WITH HOUSE PLANTS, but it SHOULD be titled "THE ONE AND ONLY ENCYCLOPEDIA YOU WILL EVER NEED TO RAISE BEAUTIFUL AND HEALTHY HOUSEPLANTS". . You already know that Readers Digest books are full of detail and arranged in an easy-to-use manner. AND they don't print books with just enough information to get you through until the next edition comes out. This is truly the best, most organized houseplant book you will ever buy. Right when you open the book you see the first chapter is 'HOW TO USE THIS BOOK" . This includes a brief description of all the contents and what you will be reading. . From there it goes to APPRECIATING HOUSE PLANTS which includes 16 pages of information and stunning photography. .... . NEXT comes USING HOUSEPLANTS INDOORS, which includes chapters on Plant shapes, Grouping plants, Brightening small areas, Using medium-size areas, Using large areas, Climbing and trailing plants, Decorative baskets, Plant supports, Room dividers, Using window areas, Plants in containers, Bottle gardens, Miniature gardens, Garden rooms. . On page 63 the A-Z GUIDE TO HOUSE PLANTS starts - with How to use the A-Z guide, A-Z guide, then Finder's Guide. .CARING FOR HOUSE PLANTS starts on page 409. The growth cycle, Light, Temperature and humidity, Watering, Feeding, Potting and Repotting, Pruning, Support and Training, Propagation, Alternative growing Methods, Plant health, then Families of House Plants. . What I appreciate about this book is the amazing detail -The explanations and descriptions cover every conceivable question or challenge you may have, PLUS the DRAWINGS are SO CLEAR and correct you will understand what plant you are looking at AND what project you are trying to complete. YES, The ARTWORK is amazing. Every description is accompanied by a drawing. If you need to draw a plant, or illustrate a plant leaflet, CHECK THIS OUT for detailed drawings! . . If you buy this book you won't be needing a supplement in 6 months or when you are more experienced at growing houseplants. This book is, in my opinion, the only book you could ever need if you want to grow houseplants or start houseplants or re-pot, prune, propagate, diagnose a plant ailment, or just have a coffee table book that will be read and re-read by all family members and guests.
