Useable value
These are Chinese manufactured copies. The pivoting head is a bit clicky & stiff, and the blades seem to drag a bit in use. But what can you expect at the price? I won't be discarding them unused.

Perfect providing the powered device does NOT require an Earth connection
This adaptor is ideal for connecting one of the new fold-able UK plugs (having a C7 termination) to a laptop power-block (having a C6 socket), search for "IEC 60320" on wikipedia.
As most laptop power-blocks are all plastic and usually have only two low-voltage connections on to the laptop, this seems not to be an issue for me.
So, it is sad that this C5/C8 adaptor is not generally available in the UK due to the Earthing issue.

So far totally error free, although a tight fit in the USB port
I previously used an ADDON-ADDCR200 all-in-one reader that suffered heavily with read-errors. This single format reader has been perfect, which is a surprise considering its low cost. I bought four extra to give away, and have no hesitation to recommend it.
The only downside is its tight fit in a USB port which led the nylon line to pull through the body when I first tried to unplug the reader by pulling on the nylon line. But that's not important.
