Great acting with engaging content
This is probably one for fans of sixties films. They did things differently then. I understand Montgomery Clift was not easy to work with during the filming and indeed died just a few years later. But he delivered a heartfelt and impressive performance as usual. Great to see young Susannah York and David McCallum. I think highly of this film which has some creative dream sequences, as you would expect with a film about Freud.

The Inspector
I have answered "yes" to all the above but really this film was a disappointmnt. The cast is excellent though. Stephen Boyd and Dolores Hart are great leads but the film is chock-full of great British character actors. Harry Andrews and Robert Stephens to name just two. The story drags a little and the film is simply not what I thought it would be. Visually it is good though.

Moving Wartime film
This film, Montgomery Clift's first leading role, showcases his sensitivity and compassion as he deals with the boy lost in the ruins of post-war Berlin. It's a great performance and the film, obviously very dated, is very moving and with a happy ending.
