A truly heart-wrenching story that proves we must protect all chidren
1 of 1 found this helpful An extremely gripping true story about the most appalling neglect and sexual abuse.To be brought up in a safe environment is every childs right.Not so these children. A harrowing tale that had to be relived so the story could be told, my heart goes out to the author. To think that the mother, police, social services did nothing to stop the on-going deliberate abuse beggers belief.Even the neighbours were absolutely powerless to do anything about it.Thank goodness times have changed and children are now listened to.
Although it is frightening to read, this is a book you just cannot put down.I was born post-war and this makes me realise that I must have shared a classsroom with victims such as these. I had a safe upbringing.Yes we were poor but never neglected.In my safe, loving home I was naive to what went on elsewhere.This book really opens your eyes. when I think back there were children who were sad, disruptive and troubled and I avoided them because I was a "good girl".I wasn't so good at all.I should have befriended them, but that's in hindsight. Reading this dreadful account makes me thankful I had a mother and father who protected me. I realise we weren't poor at all. That these children grew up to have such strength is hard to believe. I will give this book to my older grandchildren to read. It will give them an insight to what was allowed to go on then.

Quality
These pillow protectors are excellent. As they zip up, they enclose the pillow completely. So keeping the pad absolutely dry. As they are not slippery the pillow case stays put too. I can honestly say they are the best ones on the market. I was so pleased I purchased another half a dozen. Top marks for a quality product.

GREAT VALUE
I bought these for driving my mobility scooter. I know they are men's but I have big hands and I find men s products are better made. These are warm and they have excellent grip. Just what I needed for the winter months.
