great cpu for a budget build
Hi folks, this cpu was purchased for my duaghter who is 9 and doing homeowrk on the pc for school. so i built a little system for her room and this cpu was replacing a p4 630 which just wasnt hacking it. paired with 2 gb ddr2 ram and a geforce 210gt the system does everything she needs. upgrading to this little budget dual core cpu was a great move and speeds everything up nicely. when these initially were released you found a lot of budget minded enthusiast had them overclocked to 3.5ghz plus.
you can pick them up on ebay for as little as £9.99 and for a cheap upgrade, you really cant go wrong...
great little budget cpu!

Q6600 slacr , still a viable if you have a skt 775 board and are Skint!!
Still , even by todays standards the Intel Q6600 GO revision is a good cpu. if overclocked its a great cpu , but is undoubtedly outdated by modern cpu's. most of the GOrevision cpu's will happily overclock to 3.4-3.6ghz and at this speed is still great value for money if a cheap upgrade is needed from an old dual core skt 775 cpu. its widely regarded as one of the best cpu's intel produced and has really only been replaced by the i5 2500k. these are available now for £40 used on ebay and even at stock speed provide great value upgrade options for someone on a very tight budget.
