Cost effective small spanners
These spanners do what is required. Probably best for light use. Simple stamped manufacture. Some rough edges and burrs left on a few. Tolerance on jaws could be better for a precision fit. But acceptable for the low cost. If you need tougher materials, or a high precision fit for a particular task, then you might need to look at an alternative.

Pros and Cons on this water butt tap
This tap is robustly made and operates nicely on/off with a positive quarter-turn. The design and materials would appear to match the typical plastic external tap units sold for outdoor taps and hose systems.
The threaded orifice and additional push-on hose fitting could be useful for many and offers the possibility of fitting a screw-on standard snap-on/off hose nozzle as an accessory to match up with popular hose systems.
The internal extended back-nut supplied is also useful for attachment of this tap to many water butts, which do not have a screw-in option for their taps. But you may require someone with a long arm to hold and tighten it, when attaching this to a tall butt.
The tap hand-wheel is much more comfortable and easier to use than many of the cheap original and replacement butt-taps, as generally supplied with water-butts.
Those flimsy taps do not last very long outdoors, as the plastics in them do not appear capable of resisting UV exposure to shady daylight, let alone direct sunlight and simply deteriorate until they break off and fall apart - hence the need for a good replacement. The grade of plastic polymers used are probably not suitable for this use and are non UV-resistant, which means effectively, that they are not fit for purpose.
I look forward to finding, over time, that the Bosmere tap offers a suitably much longer life. Just having it in black pigment material probably helps to extend that anyway, as it will be more resistant to UV light.
This Bosmere tap does have one issue about suitability to all water butts, which needs checking and possible improvement. Some butts, like mine (probably a Sankey type), have a slightly recessed area for tap attachment. But its, quite large and comfortable, hand-wheel does mean that this can create interference with a recess edge that prevents it turning fully.
Ideally the tap design requires an extension to the back-nut area, so that the handle is held well clear of the water butt. I found that I needed to source and obtain a threaded extension adapter from a local plumbing outlet (female to male thread), to first screw on the back, before fitting to the butt, in order to achieve this.
It would be good if Bosmere offered their own accessory for use in these circumstances, either as an included accessory, or as an additional option. At least they could include that advice in their advertising description.
That's the only reason I rate at 4, rather than 5 stars at present.
But I'm happy with it so far and have purchased two more, ready to replace the taps on other butts.

Cost-effective miniature spanner set
1 of 1 found this helpful Combination ends are useful to suit restricted access nuts and screw heads. Chrome plated and polished finish is quite good. Machined ends are OK but not perfect. Fit can be a little loose, but workable.
Sadly there are 2 spanner combinations in the set, with a 5.0mm open jaw end, but none with a 5.0mm ring end. Not sure why that is.
But they meet my needs for light-duty work at a competitive price.
