Picture good, sound ok, smart apps don't work

None of the main smart apps work and after googling this, I find it's a common complaint with the older Samsung TVs. Seems Samsung have ignored their previous customers by updating their software but not making the upgrade retrospective. I would expect better for a TV that was £1250 in 2014.
