The Denon AVR-X1700H offers excellent quality and features
I am no audiophile but I must say that the sound quality of this unit is impressive. It has plenty of connectivity options at the rear, including eARK and six HDMI ports (3 x HDMI 2.1). and too many features to list here. My previous unit was a Pioneer VSX-S300-K which was 5.1 which I thought was really good but unfortunately, when upgrading to Windows 10 I lost support for 5.1 and it showed the Pioneer as 2.1, The same unit worked perfectly under Windows 7. The sound and clarity of this unit is so much better, but that is to be expected, being a 2022 model as opposed to 2010 and with 7.1 Atmos over 5.1 DTS. I am using the same speakers.
I recently bought a Sony HTS40R soundbar and the same thing happened, using HDMI. Bluetooth and Optical the soundbar would only show up as being 2.1 under Windows 10. Having just purchased a 4K Smart TV with Atmos support I decided to buy this to use with the new TV. Setup was effortless, with the setup assistant walking you through with ease. The same with the calibration.
I tried hooking it up to my computer, went into sound setting and lo and behold, there it was, in glorious 7.1, I didn't have to do anything, except download Microsoft's Atmos app, which is free for home theatre. So I now have 7.1 Dolby Atmos working on my computer which is my main media centre.
On the minus side, some reviews complain about the loss of front HDMI with this unit, personally I prefer my cables hidden at the rear but I can see how it would be convenient for some. The UI could do with being more modern and Bluetooth is 4.2
The Denon AVR-X1700H offers excellent quality and features for relatively little money. Good and safe technology combined with sufficient performance and super sound. Especially as an entry-level model, it is the ideal AV receiver. You can definitely say that the receiver plays well above its price range. All online reviews and testimonials also give the device consistently positive feedback!

Looks as good as it performs...
This card's ROG Strix style looks amazing, it's a great looking card and matches my Strix motherboard. Comes in a nice looking box too. Looks are all well and good but it's the performance that matters most. ASUS is using a chunky 2.9-slot design on the ROG Strix RTX 3070 graphics card, but it is using it to good effect here. It's a thick card, but it looks mean as Hell and has the performance numbers and noise levels to prove it. A lot of that room is used to good effect for cooling and it works, this card runs at very low temps and is very very quiet.
It runs every game that I throw at it at ultra settings. Before deciding on this card I looked at all the reviews I could find on thirty eight 3070 cards from different manufacturers and this card came out top in nearly every test and with the build quality you would expect with Strix beating the competition hands down. And although this already comes factory overclocked out of the box it has plenty of headroom for further overclocking thanks to its superior component quality.
The quality of those components is reflected in the cost though, which is the only downside for this card, as it averages out to around £100 more than some of it's competitors. Not sure of the MRRP card at the moment, certainly not after the high prices that we saw recently! Currently listed on the ASUS website @ £739.99 and the cheapest I could find in stock was £699.95 at Overclockers. At that price point you may want to consider if it is worth paying a little more for an RTX 3080!
I was very lucky in that I was the only bidder in an auction which had a starting price of £499.99 for a Brand New Card and both I and the seller were very surprised that there were no other bidders. At that price this card was an absolute bargain as pre-owned ones were (and still are at the time of writing) going for a lot more than that, let alone a new one!
If you are set on getting a RTX 3070 and you can find this card at the right price then I would highly recommend that you get it, I am certainly glad that I did. Oh! It also has RGB if that's your thing.
