Apache Holster Trousers Cordura Workwear Work Protective Knee Pad - 4 Colours

Apache Holster Work Trousers
These are great trousers but they are let down by two issues, one minor and the other something that really should be addressed by the manufacturer. Firstly, the good points. They sit on you like a pair of jeans i.e. unlike other brands of which I have worn out many pairs, the Apache trouser waistband does not sit a mile too high. The kneepads are in the correct place for ordinary mortals unlike Dickies whose kneepads are anywhere but the knee. Buy a size bigger in the waist too as buying you normal jean size results in some painful reminders that the crotch is more than a little snug. I have worn out several pairs of these now and the downsides are well known to me. The velcro for the pockets and kneepads pouches is not adequately sewn on and eventually lets go. This is an irritation but nothing in comparison to the shrinkage these trousers undergo through normal use. I have compared my old to the new fresh out of the packet and can confirm that the leg length shrinks by 2 inches. This is the same thing that happened with my last two pairs so it is not an isolated case. My 33" leg trousers become 31" leg trousers and this is something that should not happen. The wearer ends up with a pair of trousers that constantly catch on the top of the workboots with a hem that hovers in mid air like something from the 1960s Star Trek wardrobe. Would it be so hard to make them from preshrunk material? It simply isn't practical to avoid the use of a tumble dryer in a wet country so what is one to do? It's a real pity; these could be excellent trousers with a little additional effort but if my new pair go like the others, they will likely be my last. Two inches in leg length lost due to shrinkage is just unacceptable.

Fits VW Transporter T5 Shuttle with aircon
This item fits a 2004 VW Transporter T5 Shuttle with aircon perfectly. The only noticeable differences between it and the original VW part relate to the wiring from the connector to the motor itself being somewhat lighter and also the increased flexibility of the plastic housing. The VW housing is much stiffer and of better quality but when fitted into place, it really doesn't matter. Given the difference between the price of a new VW motor and this one, I consider this to be the perfect replacement. There are cheaper models but it seems they do not suit T5s with aircon. Change your resistor at the same time for peace of mind and if your pollen filter has been in there since the van was new, change that too. It is especially easy to do when you have the lower panel of the dash out to change the motor. You'll be rewarded with a good blast of clean air which in my book is infinitely preferable to a knackered old motor doing its level best to go up in smoke.
