not what the original was
The Swissmar Borner v-1001 slicer is not what it used to be. I remember the first Borner I purchased, and it was better materials and seemed to last much longer. Don't get me wrong, the slicer is OK for the price and is better than most competition in this price range, but I need better materials, smoother operation and a blade that lasts longer or can be sharpened.. I'll keep it and use it, but I'll also be searching for what I need, something that doesn't stain so easily, and one that I can sharpen the blades
