Sharyn McCrumb does it again
1 of 1 found this helpful The Elizabeth MacPherson series by Sharyn McCrumb is one of my all time favorite series; great plots, fantastic characters, very witty dialog. In several of her later books in the series, McCrumb skilfully weaves together several subplots. The first reviewer seems confused. Bad language in the first chapter? "Damn" and "pissant"? Ai yi yi. Don't miss this book. The series is best read in order of publication, beginning with Sick of Shadows.

Not as well made as in the past
I hope the 2 mills that I bought were an exception, because the quality is definitely poorer than the first set I bought several years ago, that seemed identical to this set. On the new ones, you have to be very careful when pulling off the metal housing (like to replace batteries or fill with pepper) because the upper battery half tends to fall off the bottom half. It seem the 2 little pins are not long enough to hold securely as they used to. Also, on one of the mills, the grind adjustment control doesn't work, just spins uselessly. Fortunately, the mill was set at a fine enough grind that it needs no adjustment.

The Shell Seekers - excellent
This is one of my favorite books. Pilcher's others are also very good, as are her son's, Robin Pilcher.
