Solved my problem!
Old senior not functioning. The new sensor works just fine.

Garage door remote
Was happy to locate one at a decent price. Being used, it definitely had some scratches on it and I was initially concerned when I pressed the transmit button and the indicator light did not come on. The battery was dead. I put in a new one and the unit worked fine after programming.
