Best I have found in a long long time.
I brought a NATO in Vietnam 18 years ago for my Sea Dweller and since then have tried to find something similar in both build quality, comfort and thickness to replace it....... till now that is. This is the best I have found and it’s also not stupidly long, so enough in reserve for over a wetsuit without having to cut it down for day to day use.

Perfect camera (as long as you don't shoot indoors)
2 of 2 found this helpful I read all the online blurb before deciding to buy the X Vario, and so knew that this was a camera you either loved or hated. I don't shoot indoors, which (luckily) is a good thing, because honestley it's rubbish. My little D-Lux is far superior. HOWEVER if you are into street photography, landscapes and general walking about snapping anything that doesn't move (to fast), then this camera is fantastic. You get the Leica colour and tone, because the lense is stunning. The camera is not complex to use, becuase it doesn't have a load of fancy settings. It forces you ( in a good way) to think about what you want in the snap, where you need to be, and what speed and ISO will work, before you press the button. The EVF works well, but is a bit hit and miss in manual focus, but way better than guessing via the rear screen in bright sunlight (although the rear screen is the best in sunlight I have used). Strap is a bit nasty, (far to thin and short for the size of the camera) but there are loads of nice ones on the market. Leica half case looks nice and adds some protection, but the camera tips forward when rested on a table, where as without it, it balances flat; add a lense hood however and that is resolved.
