Plus ça change...or The same old story
Even though the movie is about French royalty in the court of King Louis XVI, it establishes parallels between the vices and sins of that time and today's society and politics.

Great film about childhood memories
Marcel spends a summer vacation with his family. He grows up adoring his father and mother, but discovers, alas, that his father is not the infallible, perfect human being he thought he was. Nevertheless, the father manages to redeem himself, mostly by chance, in the eyes of Marcel. A very moving, beautifully narrated film appropriate for the entire family.
