Replaced three other gadgets with one
I should have done this years ago. You might think that anything that plays disks belongs in the past, but when I saw my son's BlueRay player in action I rushed out and bought one. I was able to throw out my old DVD player, my Media Player for downloaded files, and my Google Chrome for beaming Netflix etc - cleaning out a whole lot of tangled cords.
- Even on DVDs, the picture is much better than the old player, and I can now play BlueRay.
- The USB connection lets me plug and play my hard disks full of downloaded stuff, even MKV files
- the streaming connection doesnt turn off every day and have to be restarted like my Google gadget, and I dont have to run to the other room to my computer to control what's playing
There are plenty of cheap Blueray players around, but it's good to have the Sony commitment to design and reliability. I have Sony equipment here from more than 30 years ago that works just fine.
